Exactly the same like what you do with the thousands of pictures per minute in motion pictures, is what you do with only one picture in photo editing - a subpart of graphic design. Ok, not exactly but ... The only big difference is: the audience and the editor has more time to take a look at details! And, where ever you go, where ever you look at in urban ares: It reflects exactly what I feel by the question: Since the first days, when we had to put something together - even if it was just something simple like a 'lil flyer or illustration - Didn't we always came across image art work and graphic design? There wasn't a single day in the last 10 years, when not a graphic print came out of our workstations. If you need another button to fit to the rest, the shadow under the nose to be unseen, the sharpening of the spotlight to be stronger, or just a new fontcase or a logo for a new project to be made. Our urban world is a graphic art work world.

And graphic design depends strongly on the usage. Is it for print, is it for web, is it for presentation screens, or in best case prepared for multiple usage. A printed DVD cover could probably be also useful for a website, so the cover should be prepared to be seen on computer displays and to look good in thumb-size.

Well, you see - there is much more to say about it. Restoration, keying and composting like in motion picture post production, or the way it should look, or the image what needs to be transported ... We will fill the sites here with some tutorials and how-to's for you, to give same basic informations about what graphic design could all be about. I think, even customers should know as much as possible about it, to see what are the daily pipelines in graphic design.
